After The Garden

Fernando Jorge presented his latest one of a kind designs in New York during May’s Art Week.

For the occasion, Fernando joined forces with curator Ashlee Harrison, incorporating his jewellery pieces into Harrison’s latest exhibition, After the Garden, held at Thirty8East, her newly unveiled Upper East Side brownstone salon dedicated to collectable design and contemporary art.

Conceived as an intimate, offbeat cultural space, Thirty8East invites visitors to encounter rare works in a setting that feels both domestic and deeply curated.

After the Garden was inspired by the triptych structure of Hieronymus Bosch’s iconic The Garden of Earthly Delights, exploring human behaviour through the lens of space and atmosphere rather than conventional narrative. The exhibition unfolds across three psychological states, formation, decadence, and reckoning, transforming the townhouse into a sequence of immersive emotional environments.

Fernando Jorge’s latest jewellery works were woven throughout the exhibition as part of its evolving visual language, with pieces placed in dialogue alongside
collectable design and contemporary artworks, creating moments of connection
throughout the space.

A special work by American artist Robert Rauschenberg was also included in the exhibition through a partnership between Ashlee Harrison and the Thaddaeus Ropac gallery.
